Conference Venue

The13th ISCD will take place at the Radisson Victoria Plaza Hotel. Set at the Main Square in Montevideo (Independence Square) and Citadel Tower, between Downtown and the Old City, this five-star hotel is within walking distance of the waterfront, shopping precinct, museums, theaters, fine restaurants and local transportation.

Carrasco International airport is just 20 min by bus from the Symposium venue

Commercial Exhibition A commercial exhibition will be held in conjuction with the Symposium at the Radisson Victoria Plaza Hotel.  Companies interested in participating should contact the Symposium Secretariat for further details.
Insurance The Symposium Secretariat does not accept responsibility for individual medical, travel or personal insurance.  Delegates are strongly advised to purchase their own insurance policies.
Letter of invitation Delegates who require an official letter of invitation (this is not intended to cover fees or other expenses), please inform the Symposium Secretariat.  If any special information is required on the letter of invitation, please indicate this to the Secretariat.

 

Montevideo and Uruguay Information

Climate November (late spring) is sunny and clear with a medium temperature of 23 deg. C., humidity around 65-70%.
Currency The currency is the Uruguayan Peso. It is pegged to the U.S. Dolar at a rate of 12.8 Pesos to 1 USD, with slight fluctuation. Most foreign currencies and traveler’s cheques are easily exchanged in banks, hotels or money changers. Credit cards are widely accepted in shops and restaurants throughout Uruguay and South America.

Safety and Security

Montevideo is one of the safest capitals in the world.

However, as everywhere, protect yourself from pickpockets and carry as few valuables as possible. Use the hotel safe-deposit to store valuables.
